Visualytics has been involved with a wide range of R&D projects, ranging from multi-year development projects for foreign and domestic entities down to short term consulting work to provide unique visual differentiators for customers. This section highlights just a few of our more visible projects.

 BattleView 20/20™ is our flagship product, making the future of battlespace visualization technology available today. We recognize that no single view of a battlespace can meet all needs, and that a wide and dynamic range of views are required to meet the needs of the different user classes and tasks. As an example, a support logistics group would want to look at very different information than a counter-insurgency rapid strike force. Yet sometimes these diffferent views need to be synchronized to gain a greater understanding of the big picture. That is why BattleView 20/20 excels at allowing customized views to be created by users, shared with others, and seamlessly merged with other views of the space.

Our fundamental research on visualization and analysis tools for dynamic ad-hoc networks has many potential applications, including wireless communications networks, traffic management, and intelligence analysis. We have been exploring one application in particular, the flow of money through large transactional networks, with a focus on the networks of campaign contributions.

 Our web-based visualization technologies have been applied to the issue of tracking twitter traffic ("tweets") in a geospatial domain. Our MappaTweet project collects all tweets within a user selectable region in real time, and visually presents them to show the distribution and intensity of twitter traffic. This project is still in the early stages and we are working on furthering the potential in a variety of ways.

 The past few years have seen a significant shift in online communities to emphasize real-world concepts such as buying and selling, supply and demand, marketing and social networking. There are many such virtual communities in existence, however we have chosen to focus on the Second Life community as it provides such rich potential for commercial marketplaces within an open source architecture that provides access to the market transactions for analysis.
